I heart Blizzard…

Way back in the day…the very first day for me… I named my main Marylin because quite frankly I couldn’t think of anything else. So there I was, my first character got stuck with my name…lucky her. Since then I’ve come up with another name that I’d always thought would suit a druid and lo-behold it wasn’t taken… so say hello so Softthistle. As I said… I heart Blizz ;)
I was wondering if it would muck up the DKP that I had earned in my player notes, but it hasn’t, I’ve still got it, and if I’m lucky I might actually get to use some tonight. Apparently anyone who had me in their friends list looked to find it was automatically changed - sweet! I didn’t think that many people had me on their friends list until I got spammed by them asking who I was… LOL.

I’ve yet to come across a full loot table for Zul Aman, which is annoying as I’ve heard there’s a love of Balance-loot in there which I’d love to check out! I know it’s unlikely I’ll be getting in there until I’m a bit more geared up but it’s still nice to drool every now and again isn’t it? Not in public of course.

Enough blogging… it’s the weekend so I’m off to actually play WoW instead of talking about it!

I went to Kara for the first time in about 3 months, we were doing a ‘quick’ run: Moroes, Opera, Curator, Chess, Aran and Prince. The run went really smoothly, only a couple of glitches… aaaand best of all, I got my tier 4 gloves and some shiny new shoes too D /yay!

Fixed up my addons today, on my laptop at least! Got rid of FuBar as it was just annoying me and returned to my good old reliable Titan Panel. Much better. Also added ClearFont2 for a lil change.

After about 8 months of being on the final part of my epic flight form quest but being stuck with no heroic key, last night I finally got my epic flight form on my druid… I was so excited I almost fell off my chair, no really… I was *this* close to it!

So here she is…
Mary's Epic Flight Form

hope this thing works…. let see if i have to edit it >_<

edit: Resizing ftw!

The patch broke my addons… /cry. Haven’t really had a chance to check out the new stuff yet as a friend of mine came over for the day so I’ve been busy NOT being a mummy for a change…

Trying out FuBar on wow, or I will be when the patch has fully downloaded.

Oooh and I got the new Harry Potter dvd today so sitting watching that atm too… mind wandering too much to write anymore for today so signing off!

think I’ve just said the most randomly stupid thing yet…

“The guy who played Superman will always be known as Harry Potter.”

To put it in context: Have just watched a programme about Rudyard Kipling’s son doing his duty by signing up to the army during WW1 (he died at the end - very sad, i cried /sigh).

The dude who was playing Jack (the son) was Daniel Radcliffe, otherwise known as Harry Potter from the movies.

In my opinion he’ll always be Harry Potter, just like Christopher Reeves will always be Superman, i just didn’t exactly say it that way…

Woot patch 2.3 should be out this wed! Looks like I’ll be dusting off my alts now that the leveling will be easier and therefore faster…

Other things I’m looking forward to include getting heroic keys at honored - finally my druid will get her epic flight form, about blimmin time too, I’ve had the epic flying skill for so long and been at the final part of the chain pretty much since it was released, just never got the time to do enough instances to get to revered. I am honored with all the factions, but certain little people have been keeping me from doing that many instances… such lovely little darlings that they are… /sigh!

The dailies for the instances and battlegrounds look good too, and the cooking/fishing qu’s will no doubt give some nice rewards D
Oooh I hope I manage to get a run to heroic sethekk by the end of the week, will try to sweet talk my lovely guildies into helping me out me thinks…

Hmmm, maybe I should actually log onto wow for a bit instead of rambling on here.

I first got introduced to WoW in Feb 05 by my newly wed husband. He’s an avid gamer who would (and has!) eat sleep and live for games. Anyway one of his mates, Cheesy Dave (cause of the smile not anything else you may be thinking btw!), had been going on and on about this game World of Warcraft that was going to be released in the UK that Feb and John being John, he decided that he was going to have to try it out.

So after many an evening of listening to them going on and on about wow I thought I’d see what all the fuss was about. I started playing my first toon, a NE druid, at around 7pm and when J was home from work 4 hours later there i was still playing (and i think i got to all of lvl 10 in that whole time… ahh the noob days).

As time went on J and I started playing our toons more often, both on the same account, and I ended up overtaking him in the leveling at which point he decided to not bother playing anymore (the guy can’t stand that there’s a game that I can actually play better than him… mwahaha), so I took over his account.

Not long after Zack was born (July 05) I got an invite to a pretty cool casual guild who I’ll call TBC for now (initials are good ;) ). My druid was lvl 42 by that point and they were shocked that I hadn’t got my mount yet, so they gave me the gold for it, helped me out with questing and in general were a great help in making me a not-so-noobish player anymore. Two years on and they have become one of the biggest guilds on our server and are clearing Kara and *about* to down Gruul. We’ve had our fair share of splits etc, but each time we’ve built ourselves back up, mainly thanks to our core guildies (me being one of them now) being so enthusiastic, even after the ten millionth wipe on Luci, Hakkar, right up to Moroes and beyond. I’m so proud to be a part of our guild, we’re like a big family (argue loads but make up in the end ;) ).

About a year after J quit the game i managed to persuade him to get an account for himself so we could play together. I knew he’d love being in TBC and he had been asking me loads about the end game stuff I’d been doing since hitting 60. So we made new characters together, NE hunters, leveled them up together and now he’s back in the swing of it all he’s loving it.

I’ve had to take a bit of a break from anything instance-based for the past 3-4 months purely from the point of view that I could no longer sit my pregnant ass in front of a pc for more than about 30 min (just enough for a BM run maybe…?) and now that Max is here, well… you can imagine the amount of time i get online!

In fact, I think I’m gonna have a little look in game now to say hi while the kids are snoozing…
