I first got introduced to WoW in Feb 05 by my newly wed husband. He’s an avid gamer who would (and has!) eat sleep and live for games. Anyway one of his mates, Cheesy Dave (cause of the smile not anything else you may be thinking btw!), had been going on and on about this game World of Warcraft that was going to be released in the UK that Feb and John being John, he decided that he was going to have to try it out.
So after many an evening of listening to them going on and on about wow I thought I’d see what all the fuss was about. I started playing my first toon, a NE druid, at around 7pm and when J was home from work 4 hours later there i was still playing (and i think i got to all of lvl 10 in that whole time… ahh the noob days).
As time went on J and I started playing our toons more often, both on the same account, and I ended up overtaking him in the leveling at which point he decided to not bother playing anymore (the guy can’t stand that there’s a game that I can actually play better than him… mwahaha), so I took over his account.
Not long after Zack was born (July 05) I got an invite to a pretty cool casual guild who I’ll call TBC for now (initials are good
). My druid was lvl 42 by that point and they were shocked that I hadn’t got my mount yet, so they gave me the gold for it, helped me out with questing and in general were a great help in making me a not-so-noobish player anymore. Two years on and they have become one of the biggest guilds on our server and are clearing Kara and *about* to down Gruul. We’ve had our fair share of splits etc, but each time we’ve built ourselves back up, mainly thanks to our core guildies (me being one of them now) being so enthusiastic, even after the ten millionth wipe on Luci, Hakkar, right up to Moroes and beyond. I’m so proud to be a part of our guild, we’re like a big family (argue loads but make up in the end
).
About a year after J quit the game i managed to persuade him to get an account for himself so we could play together. I knew he’d love being in TBC and he had been asking me loads about the end game stuff I’d been doing since hitting 60. So we made new characters together, NE hunters, leveled them up together and now he’s back in the swing of it all he’s loving it.
I’ve had to take a bit of a break from anything instance-based for the past 3-4 months purely from the point of view that I could no longer sit my pregnant ass in front of a pc for more than about 30 min (just enough for a BM run maybe…?) and now that Max is here, well… you can imagine the amount of time i get online!
In fact, I think I’m gonna have a little look in game now to say hi while the kids are snoozing…
