I am now resto with probably some funky choices… lets just say I’m experimenting!

Thanks to Yashima and Tigersoul for their input WRT my pvping.  I have been duelling some PVP-hungry friends to (hopefully) get some advice and more of an idea of what to do. It’s helping to get me out of the daze I used to go in when I started casting - that’s all fine when I’m just killing a mob but NOT when it’s another player! I have a lot to learn!

I am going to do some more battlegrounds to get a bit more experience of the whole PVP thing and also hopefully earn some honor and marks to save for getting some gear with resilience rating.. it’s a start!

My partner for my 2v2 team is an arms specced warrior with 2-handed weapon specialization.  We’re both pretty new to arenas, although he’s done a lot more BGs than I have! I’m lucky he’s willing to take me under his wing a bit (if you’re reading this… /lick… and LEAVE A COMMENT ya lurker!), so yay for Ansy.

WoWScrnShot_022608_223119

We did actually WIN one of the 10 matches we played this week… a rogue/priest combo.  I stealthed as cat until Ansy started on the priest and the rogue showed himself, cycloned him, healed Ans, and tried to keep the rogue CC’d while healing myself and Ans till he got both down. I was so happy it’s actually pretty silly! My first (and so far only) arena win… yaaaaay! So as the main thing there was that I was healing Ans, I figured why not go resto and try again? Would have worked if I didn’t keep getting my action bars screwed up >_<  Too many spells and not enough space!!!!

Oooh, also… my lil feral alt, Softi, is lvl 38 now, just two away from the Kodo riding!! Woot! My highest level hordie ever, and also enjoying the whole feral-ness of it all :D

lolcathalp … how do I PVP as a Moonkin?! Specifically in arenas! I have just joined a 2v2 team with a couple of guildies and I SUCK. I need advice, or some linkies to show me where to find out what to do.

I’ve not done much in the way of PVP in my WoW life… in fact in the (soon to be) three years I’ve been playing my main I only have something like 500 kills.  What can I say, I’ve never been a fan, but I figured since my friend asked me to join him I might as well - I’m not able to raid on a regular basis because it just takes up too much time, and I’ve really done most of what I can on Softthistle otherwise.

I did tell him I was really bad at PVP… but I don’t think he quite got HOW bad until we lost 6 matches in a row… /sigh.  First was 2 rogues, then a priest and rogue, mage and warrior, then the priest and rogue again, shammy and pally, followed by a pally and hunter team.  He was pissed we lost, I was pissed we lost.  But dammit I did warn him!

Unfortunately I think my main problem is I am too used to going on auto-pilot with her, moonfire, IS, wrath x 6, repeat.  I need to get into actually being on the ball while playing and figure out what to do for PVP- it really is a whole other ball game!

Oh… did I mention I don’t like PVP? That would be why I haven’t done much in the (almost) 3 years I’ve been playing.  Weirdly enough though, it’s the same friend who persuaded me to roll horde on a PVP server with my feral alt Softi… I think he wants to torture me!!!

So… advice, links, severe knocks to the head… anything to help me with the PVPing in arenas would be MUCHOS appreciated :D

I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon with Matticus and Razorbax and try out Windows Live Writer… So far I’m pretty impressed! It’s making it a lot easier to do links for a start, I also don’t have to be tabbing in between my dashboard and other sites, which often lead me to getting confused and navigating away from the dashboard /sigh.

WoWScrnShot_021908_231725resized Soo… back to WoW talk.  It was the hubby’s birthday yesterday, he got his 300 riding skill and a swift red griffon on his hunter, and an Arcanite Reaper on his warrior = one very happy person! Also got that Zelda game for the DS which has been stealing away from his WoW time, but hey…whatever makes him happy!

I decided to go get a frostsaber kitty on my hunter.  I figure you don’t see that many of them at lvl 70 these days and I wantedWoWScrnShot_021508_225123resized to see how easy it would be to level a pet since they made it easier.  She’s still lvl 60 as I’ve not had much time on her yet but we’re definitely getting somewhere! I still need to think of a name for her though… Maryliin and ____. Anyone got any ideas?  I might be changing the hunter’s name to Leafitalon at some point, or Nilyram… not sure about that yet though!

I’ve been reading about Pox Arcanum’s goings on over at Outland Bound and Two and a Half Orcs - sounds like they’re having a blast! Basically a bunch of US-realm WoW-Bloggers have banded together to form an "Anti-PUG"… somewhere they can hang out together and chat while still playing the game we all love to blog about.  It’s a great idea and one I’d be very interested in doing… but I’m on the EU servers - gah!

So… if there are any WoW-Bloggers out there from the EU realms who like the thought of getting together once or twice a week on a random server with some new alts then let me know! I’d love to set something up, although I’m not quite as organised as the Game Dame with her google calendar and spreadsheets but I can try!

Happy WoWing everyone ;)

5200g.jpg

DIIIIIING 5200g oh yeah baby!! I did it… I actually did it!! I started the challenge just 7 weeks ago at the turn of the year, not really thinking I’d manage it, but I’ve bloody well gone and done it! I just hope the hubby is as impressed as I am! haha

Ok so, now I just have to wait til wednesday to give my beloved his gift… I hope his reaction is as good as I am hoping :) Although as I’m pretty sure he know what I’m doing I guess it won’t be quite as much surprise as I had initially wanted, the main thing is he’s finally going to have a fast mount :)
So… now I just get to sit back and relax. Maybe have a go at an instance again, or try to level up my hunter’s new pet. Or maybe I’ll go back to my lil feral alt. It’ll be a breeze to get her to 40 with all the rested bonus that’s for sure!

One thing’s for sure -I AM NOT GRINDING for a while!! Well, at least until I totally run out of gold…

So I was dropping off a daily from the Netherwing quests and all of a sudden a new quest comes up from Taskmaster Varkule. Nothing new there, that happens from time to time, I get a quest and am told I’m a Highlord and I’ve to meet Illidan - OMGWTF?! I’m EXHALTED!!! I sooo didn’t see that coming!

I was so wrapped up in trying to grind gold for the challenge that I’d actually forgotten about the rep grind, and that I could get a purty dragon mount at the end of it!

netherdrake mount

So I’m now sitting on 4300g and I have Reins of the Azure Netherwing Drake (aka Suraku)! Yay for me!

Not that I’m complaining, but is it just me or is it a bit strange that the netherwing dailies are still available once you’ve done that last quest? After all, Illidan uncovers the whole being a spy thing… strange huh?

So that was a great surprise for me today!

Just another 900g to go and 10 days to make it - easy! ;)

Another Blog Azeroth Shared topic this time brought to us by Trackhoof:

Do you feel there is a balance between your real life and your WoW life; if so, how do you achieve it?

Now this has always been something I’ve struggled with. I started playing WoW about 3 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first son, Zack. Lets face it, when you’re just married, skint, and pregnant there’s not a whole lot of things ya can do in the evenings is there! So the husband - J/Noobiewan - persuaded me to try it out and I. was. addicted! [Disclaimer: I have never played any RPG before WoW, would never ever have called myself a gamer till WoW].

So I played WoW loads, I didn’t really have much going on in real life as I was heavily pregnant, then had a new baby, so really there wasn’t much of a balance to be had! I would take care of the baby during the day, and play wow with J in the evenings.

Over the past 3 years I tried to finish my uni degree, at that point I almost took a complete break from WoW cause I could barely keep up with real life.  Unfortunately the lil dude (who was about 17 months old by this point) got chicken pox the week of my exams, so that was my degree down the swanny!

Since then I’ve been at home looking after the boy, and cooking another one, Max, who was born October 07. Before he was born I was playing WoW again a lot, Zack was in bed my 7.30pm every night and I couldn’t sleep - perfect distraction ;)
Since Max has been born though WoW’s taken a back-seat again for the majority of the time.  I’ve given up my officer position that I’d had for 2 years because I just can’t dedicate the time to it anymore, and I don’t see that changing in the near future! I hate not having enough time for WoW but that’s just the way it goes.  I dream of the time in a few years when I might actually get decent sleep and be able to play more, but I doubt it’s ever gonna happen!

So, back to the question… have I got a balance between WoW and real life? I suppose I’ve got one now.  I play for a couple of hours in the evening, most evenings and that’s about it.  I can’t really play as much as I’d like, but that’s probably a good thing.  How have I achieved it? Well… you try having 2 kids under 3yrs of age and keep up with your WoW habit! ;)

goldI am now at 3400g!! I can’t believe it! I was lucky enough to have The Essence Focuser drop for me, and be farming in the netherwing mines behind a couple of mages who didn’t skin - I was in heaven! :D
So I think I can most definitely make the last 1600g in 2 wks… woot! The hubby is gonna be soooo chuffed, although I get the feeling he’s figured it out. At least he’s playing along ;)
I have been really missing playing my characters just for fun though. Every time I’m online I can’t help but feel I should be grinding - that’s never fun! Oh well, only a couple more weeks and I can get back to normal playing, and catch up properly on all the great bloggy WoW-ers I’ve found through Blog Azeroth!

Hmm, I guess I’ll probably start farming the 20 spellcloth and 10 primal mights for my Spellstrike Pants and Hood… the fun never stops does it? :P

Ok so I’ve set myself a challenge for my husband’s birthday which is in 16 days.  His main is yet to get the epic flying skill cause, well… he’s not so good with gold! So I’ve set myself the challenge to grind up 5200g for his birthday.  If I can actually pull this of I will be amazed!  So far I have 2800g, so I’m more than half way there at least.

I’ve been doing dailies with my druid, questing on my hunter and am pondering doig some farming of primal airs and cobra scales since they seem to sell so nicely.

Thing is, I don’t exactly get much wow time these days, so I’m lucky if I can manage to get about 2 hrs of an evening.  I need to use my time to the best of my ability as it’s so limited!  So, if anyone reads this… what would you do in those 2 hours a night to get the most gold? My proffessions are Skinning/LW on my druid, and Mining/JC(not maxed) on my hunter. If it’s dailies the druid had all options open to her, but with the farming I’m not so sure!

Gah, why did I think this would be a good idea?! /sigh.

I’m going to be trying out some new themes etc for the next few days so apologies if everything seems borked. It’s because, well… it most likely IS borked ;)
Trying to come up with a decent header is not going so well *sigh* I’m sure I’ll figure something out, or get the hubby to!

edit: getting there, got a theme, and a new header that will do for now at least. trying to figure out the blog roll as I want the armoury and faves still on the front page but not the BA one cuz it’s too long! ahhhh what to do? I’m sure I’ll figure it out soonish…

Ok ok, so I’m a bit late (that’s the story of my life btw…) but I finally got my ass in gear for Blog Azeroth’s first shared topic from Siha at Banana Shoulders (rofl gotta love that name!).

My very first character was my druid. I’d never played an rpg of any sort before and honestly, the only thing I knew about druids was that they could turn into a kitty. I’ve always loved nature etc so that’s why I chose her.

I don’t know what I love the most about her. I like that I can heal when needed, so less dying while I solo. I can do uber dps with my boomkin and I suppose if I got my ass in check and got some feral gear I could do some tanking. So versatility is the name of the game for me.

Oh, and one more thing…. /dance with a moonkin - RAWKS!
