On tuesday night, after months of not feeling *quite right* in my guild, I finally said my goodbyes and typed in /gquit. It’s been over 2 years since I first joined them and it was tough to finally let go, but I do feel better for it, like a great weight’s off my shoulders. Now I just need to figure out what/where I want to go with my WoW characters.

Softthistle is geared for raiding, but until the little dude starts sleeping through raiding is a no-go, and even then… do I really want to go raiding 3 nights a week? Probably not, I’m not organized enough at the moment! If I was on the US servers I know there are a few places I could easily have transferred to and have friends to bug but, alas, I’m on the EU ones /sigh.

I should have got a screenie of the /gquit, but I didnt’t think about that until after I logged, dammit!

So, anyone on the EU servers want a friendly stalker druid? No? I guess I’ll just stay where I am for now then ;)

  1. Again too bad you’re not on US servers :) We can always use more Droods in our ALMOST ready for Kara guild.

Good luck, and good job on taking that hard step and leaving. You could always try starting your own guild… but Guild Leadership comes with some responsibilities that are harder to leave…

Kids make things very interesting. My (current) youngest is 3 today, and we’ll have a brand new one soon - so that bodes ill on any raiding plans I might have had. We’ll have to see.

    Again good luck to you!

  2. Sometimes it may just be better to leave … I’ve gquit once and then with a bunch of friends after a failed merger - well in our eyes it was failed so …

Currently we are on Terrordar (EU), but we don’t raid regularly and it is a German server and we are a German speaking guild. If by chance you speak German however … *g* feel free to sneak a look at our website http://www.boten-des-sturms.de

    Good Luck!

  3. Softthistle says:

@Tigersoul - good luck on the new arrival! Really hope the lil one is good for ya both ;) Raiding is out for me too at least until our 5 month old sleeps thru, which I don’t see hapening anytime soon >_<

@Yashima - ahh if only I spoke German *sigh*
I’m not looking to raid, really just somewhere I could log on and have some people to chat to, so I’ll probably stay guildless for a while and see how it goes, not really anywhere for me to go!

  4. Well you might want to take a look at your realm forums. Ours still has a list - I started a long time ago and now someone else manages it - of guilds on the realm complete with people to talk to and homepages.

You could also look at stuff like WoWjutsu to get a feel for the guilds that exist on your realm - always remember the data there is skewed in certain ways -> progression can always seem more advanced for any guild for example we have people raiding 25-man with other guilds which looks like we are far more progressed than we are. Once you have found a few guilds that look interesting you could also look them up on the armory to see how big they are and what they may be doing in-game. There may be people posting on the realm forums from such guilds or you may just try talking to them in-game.

About “just chatting”: Our guild has an in-game channel anyone interested can join to talk with us and we often use this channel for lfg. Some of these people eventually join our guild, some are former members … of course it is hard to find out about this unless you are asking one of our members. But maybe there are other guilds out there doing something similar.

Or you can do some PuGs and see if there are any nice people. You could then just ask them about their guild. I am always more than happy to talk to people about the guild and if they seem nice I invite them into the channel and tell them the url of our website. If they feel like it they can register for the forums and the event planner without any formal need to join the guild.

  5. hey there.
in the unlikely event you do think about changing servers , throw an application onto the ronin guild on EU: mazrigos.(alliance side)

We’re kind of a mix of a raiding guild (well kara /and just starting SSC anyway) and a bunch of us lazy older feckers just avoiding PUGs.

We’re a mix of Irish/Swedes/English/Norweigan/Danish…ah feck it we’ve more nationalities than the UN at this stage. We’re English speaking though.
Theres a mix of ages from 16 up to 40+ , and a fair few parents as well, so you wouldn’t be alone.(I’m not one myself , but me and my wife have a fairly demanding cat if that helps ;) ).
    Best of luck anyway.
    cheers
    Bob (drbob/luas)
