So I was being boosted through WC on the lil rogue by a nice hunter, and look at all the friendly people who showed up while I waited! It’s times like these I’m glad I’m not on a PVP server…
Archive for April, 2008… you’re shopping for grogeries for the week, the hubby asks you if you need to buy any ingredients for a recipe and you reply with “No, I already have all the mats for that.” Without blinking. *sigh* Well it’s Sunday again so here’s a lil roundup of what I’ve been up to in the World of Warcraft… We’ve had a couple of guild firsts this week… the first being STU downing Maggy for the first time last Sunday!! Well done everyone!! On Tuesday night we were attempting Lurker in SSC. Not the first time my guildies have been there but it was a first for me! I really love that place… we didn’t manage to down him, after 4 attempts we had respawns and decided to call it. We were so damn close to one-shotting him though! Until a sheep broke early at 9% which ended up with major wipage *sigh* Next time we’ll get him down, I’m sure of it! On Thursday we were going to Maggy, and then Gruul if there was time afterwards. Maggy went down easily. Would have been a one-shot if one of our cube-clickers managed to disconnect at entirely the wrong moment! On to the King and then Gruul - both one-shotted… yay us! No upgrades for me but more tier 4 for others, and I got some nice off-spec loot too, so I won’t complain!
Friday night is My Lil Hordie night on Karazhan server with Softi and my friend Roh (who is otherwise known as Ansgar and, fyi, he is coming to visit us in the Real Life game next week!). She dinged twice from 46-48, closer and closer to Outlands she’s getting, although it’s still gonna take some time! I also had my first proper tanking experience on her this week - a full ZF clear. I know it’s only the start but I was pretty happy with how I did for my first time… still learning but getting there, that’s for sure! I’ve been a bit silly too… I got my 70 hunter transferred to the Bloodhoof server to play with Aurik. Silly really, but as I never really got to play her much on Stormrage (too much - “can you do something on the druid plz?”, and I’m a sucker for helping people!), so now I’m on the epic journey of getting her the 5200g for her epic flight… only 4800g to go >_< So that’s my week, not in (many) pictures because I’m a numpty (i.e. fool/idiot/dumbass for you non-Scottish people out there Bear, Cat, Moonkin, Tree, so many forms, which should I be?! So hard to choose… Bear tanks are awsome with their massive HP. Need DPS? Here’s Cat! Rogue, who needs you when I can be two things? A cat for stealth - killing too! Trees with their dancing, look like my dad - hippy “cool” but really they’re HoT! Best for last - moonkin for the win! Insane casting huge crits! Balance rocks! I’ve recently been playing with a friend I made over the internet. A couple of friends actually. You see, although there is a HUGE wow blogging community (check out Blog Azeroth if you don’t believe me!), there aren’t so many on EU realms, and out of those, most people seem to be into doing their own thing. I have met a couple from the UK though, they frequent the BA chatroom most days, Leafy and Aurik.
I went to visit Aurik last week, just to go annoy him for a while, and lo and behold Leafi was born. Aurik made a new character to level with me and Leafy came along for the ride too. So far we’ve had some fun leveling up on Bloodmyst Isle, even running into about 5-6 level 19 mobs when Jhai (Aurik) and I were only a lowly level 16 and 15 respectively. No wiping of course! Leafi is a hunter, and her pet’s name is Talone (Leaf it alone… geddit?) . Jhai is a dr00d, and Shofti (Leafy) is a warrior. I have a feeling this is gonna be fun! If there are any other EU bloggers around who want to join in the fun on the Bloodhoof EU realm then let me know in the comments, or mail me, whatever - a band of EU bloggers playing together would be awesome! Bye for now, time to go lvl some more, I’ve got trees to kill and bears to get meat from…
So I’ve been a little absent the past week or so… I gots a new toy (a Nikon D60 DSLR) and have been playing and squeeing over it the past few days, as the peeps on the BA chat room will confirm, poor sods, so I’ll only show ya one pic I’ve taken, and it IS WoW related!
Personally I think he’s damn ugly but the hubby’s happy he’s got the full set of these models now - go figure (har har did ya get it? did ya?). In other news, we got down Gruul on Sunday and again on thursday - to say I was happy is an understatement! We had our 2nd attempt at Maggy too and managed to get him down to about 18% on our second try. That was our best shot on him so far, a definite learning curve going on - I’ll be surprised if we don’t nail him in the next week! I got my Windscale Hood made a couple of days ago, all in all I’s a happy druid this week! I also made a little friend to go bug Aurik from /hug on the Bloodhoof EU server, so far Leafi is a level 12 (ALMOST 13!!) hunter with her cat pet Talone. Why those names? My kid always says “Leaf it alone!” and he happened to be shouting it to his dad while I was creating the original Leafitalon. And so the name stuck.
Anyhoo, we’ve been having fun playing wow together, it’s fun having a bloggy friend to wow with
Hope everyone’s been having fun in WoW, and in that thing they call Real Life as well!
So last night we had a GL run - a FULL guild run, and my first as a full member of the guild, a Familiar so the rank says. I wanted to help out with reminding people to kiss the lair brute’s butts, so I mentioned it a few times, soon enough everyone had it. The last thing I wanted to do was come across as being one of those no-it-all newbies to the guild who tries to be ‘helpful’ and ends up just annoying everyone. I don’t think I was quite that bad… but I can’t be sure! So we got Maulgar down after I think the 3rd or 4th attempt. We had respawns I know that much! It was a definite exponential curve with the improvement each time, in fact the 2nd to last attempt was just unlucky - the mage’s spellsteal was resisted just before getting him down. I was lucky enough to win the roll and got these loverly pretty new t4 shoulders… much more druidy than what I had previously that’s for sure! And now I have my 2-piece set bonus.
So lets see, I’ve enchanted them with +15 spell power from the Inscription of Discipline. I really should add grinding to Exalted with the Aldor to my list of things to do so I can get the Greater Inscription. One day I will… one day! I also added a Veiled Noble Topaz and a Glowing Nightseye to the gem slots… I was able to nick quickly to the AH and pick them up during the 5min bio before we started on the trash to the big ugly gronn that is Gruul. We were SO close to getting him down, our 4th attempt saw him at 3% - THREE PERCENT!!! Alas, it wasn’t to be. It was time for the raid to finish and that was that. So we’re hoping to go spank his butt this sunday instead… I’ve also managed to persuade the hubby to farm Primal Airs for my Windscale Hood… I’m a lucky lady really, he’s not so bad after all! So I’m getting ever closer to crafting that, I’m hoping to have it done by the weekend, preferably by our sunday raid and 2nd try at Gruul! So, that’s what I was up to last night! Today I’ll be playing on my lil hordie Softi, I’d love to get her up at least one more level, maybe two if I’m lucky! She’s at that level now where I really should take her through ZF, but that means I’ll have to tank while still wearing lvl 18 shoulders… JUST WRONG! A lil trip to the AH is probably in order now!
So… I was in the AH last night, after I’d said I was going to go to bed and then couldn’t sleep, and guess what I came across? Only the pattern for Windscale Hood on B/O for 225g - SOLD! I mean it’s not the prettiest thing out there but still… I always have my helm hidden anyway I’m also going to see if I can nab a recipe for the Veiled Noble Topaz since that’s to be my gem-of-choice (Thanks Chad!), I might as well cut them myself huh? There are so many things I want to do on various characters I’m finding it difficult to focus on just one thing. On Softthistle I have the following goals:
On Maryliin (the hunter):
On Zackman (the mage):
On Aodh (the 51 lock):
On Softi (the PVPserver hordie):
…and that’s just the things I can REMEMBER!!! I wish I could be one of those people who could just focus on one thing - hell that’d make my real life a lot easier too! But it doesn’t seem to be how I function. I just can’t stick to a schedule or lists of any sort! /sigh. It’s like I have WoW-ADHD! Maybe I’ll add a To-Do list that I can score off as I get things accomplished… it could probably be a whole bloody page with all the alts I have! A while ago I posted that I’d tamed one of those Wintersaber pridewatchers… you know, like someone else’s pet? (Not that I’m a copy-cat, really…). I’ve been slowly grinding her up the levels, she’s currently sitting at 62 (how much longer will the pain go on?!). I have been trying to think of a decent name for her, really not wanting to end up thinking ‘oh that would be soo much better’ like usually do, so until the weekend she was unnamed. Finally I realized… it was so friggin simple! My hunter’s name is Maryliin, so OBVIOUSLY the pet’s name should be MONROE! /facepalm! Maryliin and Monroe have been trying to get the levels up, frantically trying to think of the best way to grind up the levels while still getting something out of it - I mean come on, I’m not just gonna run around killing talbuks and clefthoofs when I can’t even skin the things, and most elementals are too close together for me to kill them on my own, I’m practically running without a pet here (with a random MM build for high damage output to *hopefully* make up for it). So I’ve settled on the ogres in Nagrand, at least this way I’m getting closer to obtaining one of those mounts I’ve been drooling over with the rep, and I can also hand in the Warbeads to get Consortium rep - definitely something I want to do as a jewelcrafter! In between doing that, I’ve leveled my mage, Zackman (after the Toddler) to 64, and Softthistle got PROMOTED to becoming a full member of her (my?) new guild! I’ve been really enjoying playing the game so much more since joining STU, so I’m really glad they’ve decided to shorten my trial! So that was pretty much my WoW-weekend… how was yours? Ok so I finally got my ass in gear and had a look at the updated rewards from the BoJ vendor, and have come up with a wishlist of things I’d like to upgrade to.
So now I have my list, the only thing missing that I really need to find an upgrade for are my leggings. Currently wearing Skystalker’s Leggings (of the Invoker) with some Mystic Spellthread whacking on them for good measure, so if anyone knows of any decent upgrades to these OTHER than the Spellstrike Pants then let me know! In other news I actually did some of the new dailies today for the first time, seem to be pretty easy to do but I don’t know how people will have the time to do all 25 of their possible dailies… it’s impossible for me! I re-specced Softthistle to feral just to have a play about and see how she went with the gear she had. Wasn’t too bad but I’m still itching to get back to the Boomkin ways. I just wish my tauren cat-form was prettier than it is /sigh. Oh well, at least she’s 43 now and leveling pretty quickly… I’ll be in Outlands with her any day now… really. WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING AT THAT?! Oooh and something I meant to show you closer to the time! We did a Kara run on Sunday night and wiped because of a bug. You know the one I mean, where the Spell Shades come in masses to show you who’s boss? Yeah… THAT one. It was kinda funny really… I suppose.
So I meant to tell ya all about that back at the beginning of the week but got sidetracked… for a change. Better late than never though right? I even got some more gear for my feral set, Skulker’s Greaves, although I’m pretty clueless on the gems to put in there it’s a nice upgrade to what I had before which was, well, nothing! I’ve even managed to run Magister’s Terrace once this week - I’m getting back into my WoW groove it seems, and I even got a nice gem at the end of it! |

Ok, ok, I know… it’s another boring “Lookie what I’ve got!” post, but come on… I don’t get that very often! Well, maybe I do, but it’s my blog after all, and I’m not exactly a theory-crafter!
