Ok so I finally got my ass in gear and had a look at the updated rewards from the BoJ vendor, and have come up with a wishlist of things I’d like to upgrade to.
- Cloak of Subjugated Power for 60 Badges.
- Mask of Primal Power for 75 Badges.
- Pauldrons of Tribal Fury for 60 Badges.
- Moon-walkers for 60 Badges.
- Idol of the Unseen Moon for 20 Badges, possibly… I’m not sure about this one yet
- also still thinking about getting Manasurge Pendant for 25 Badges, but I’m not sure if it’s enough of an upgrade to warrant wasting badges on it!
So now I have my list, the only thing missing that I really need to find an upgrade for are my leggings. Currently wearing Skystalker’s Leggings (of the Invoker) with some Mystic Spellthread whacking on them for good measure, so if anyone knows of any decent upgrades to these OTHER than the Spellstrike Pants then let me know!
In other news I actually did some of the new dailies today for the first time, seem to be pretty easy to do but I don’t know how people will have the time to do all 25 of their possible dailies… it’s impossible for me! I re-specced Softthistle to feral just to have a play about and see how she went with the gear she had. Wasn’t too bad but I’m still itching to get back to the Boomkin ways. I just wish my tauren cat-form was prettier than it is /sigh. Oh well, at least she’s 43 now and leveling pretty quickly… I’ll be in Outlands with her any day now… really. WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING AT THAT?!
Oooh and something I meant to show you closer to the time! We did a Kara run on Sunday night and wiped because of a bug. You know the one I mean, where the Spell Shades come in masses to show you who’s boss? Yeah… THAT one.
It was kinda funny really… I suppose.
So I meant to tell ya all about that back at the beginning of the week but got sidetracked… for a change. Better late than never though right? I even got some more gear for my feral set, Skulker’s Greaves, although I’m pretty clueless on the gems to put in there it’s a nice upgrade to what I had before which was, well, nothing!
I’ve even managed to run Magister’s Terrace once this week - I’m getting back into my WoW groove it seems, and I even got a nice gem at the end of it!

Red gems are pretty easy though expensive to decide for ferals: get +8 Agility and many people advocate to put in +8 Agility in any socket. There is a +4 Agi and 6 Stamina purple one. That’s a good choice I think. The red ones goe for 80 gold on our AH the purple for about 60 I think. Gemming is expensive.

Yeah I cant wait for the Anvil to be finished somebody needs to get an E-Whip and get the slackers (Stormrage) to push the progression …./Gief Anvil quick so we can enjoy the new Badge loot! I got 500 boJ’s waiting to be spent

I levelled to 60 as a feral druid then because I wanted to heal too (when necessary) someone on the WoW boards suggested a Balance/Resto spec and I’m loving it! There’s precious little information around about them…they seem to be a bit of a red-haired step-child o_O

I recently helped Waradwen prioritize his badge rewards and goals. You and he are in a similar situation as you’ve both completed the Windhawk set. That’s an undertaking! From checking you on Armory, I can see you’re doing spectacularly well with the drops you have received, compromising for cloth, getting dps caster loots, etc etc. A few things are outright healer gear, which, if you’re the emergency healer, is suitable — if not ideal. As far as gearing and gemming for a role as a main DPS for raid purposes, allow me a few suggestions!
First of all, some basics: Since you took the Balance of Power talent, you know that your spell hit only needs to be ~152 to reach a minimum spell miss of 1%. Right now you’re at 43, from a few VNT(Veiled Noble Topaz) and Staff of Infinite Mysteries. We’ll start there. Another thing to keep in mind is to always gear for +dmg, and to remind oneself “Crit Happens!”. No need to plan for it. I know Nature’s Grace is handy, but a good casting rotation relies on smoothing out damage output rather than speedy crits, going too fast will turn you into an OOMkin. Also, heavy +dmg means your crits hit HARD. That’s a nice consolation when you can shave a chunk of health from a boss in a single hit.
I can see you’re aware of the Spellstrike Set, and I can sympathize with the apprehension to getting it made. It’s cloth, it’s low stamina, it’s bright friggin red. But take it from me: it’s too good to pass up. Gemming them with 4 VNT and 2 Glowing Nightseye will maximize your spellhit and +dmg. Add in the Glyph of Power and a Runic Spellthread, and you’re fragile, but frightening. The mats are expensive and time-consuming, but well worth it.
As for badge loot, I’d advise the Icon of the Silver Crescent. It’s a solid choice that provides +dmg and a USE proc that you can practice triggering to amplify your damage. I would suggest Idol of the Unseen Moon next, but I’d reserve buying Idols until you have both the Idol of the Avenger from the SMV questline and Ivory Idol of the Moongoddess from the first boss in SH, and have written macros for auto equip for both. Many believe that the Idol of the Raven Goddess is an all-around good relic choice, but when it comes to crunching numbers, it’s the rapid idol-swappers that have the most fun. If you have all the good Balance idols, go for it. Get Unseen Moon, write some macros and fall in love with multiple dmg buffs from it, Shiffar and a triggered IoSC. You should see +1200 dmg with them all cooking. Next up would be replacing those healer boots with Moon-walkers. The ZA badge boots are dark green, not entirely ugly, and have a sick amount of desirable stats. Plus, you can gem with straight up Runed Living Rubies, and I’ll leave you to decide if you prefer Vitality over Boar’s Speed. I like stam and a bit of spring in my step.
After the boots comes a hard look at your guild, how fast you all are progressing, how fast you personally want to progress, and whether the badges you’re getting are burning a hole in your bank. Kara still has a loot you can look forward to, and lord knows the only room you have to spare for a significant T4 bonus comes from High King Maulgar. If Gruul’s Lair isn’t in the picture, I’d suggest going for the shoulders next. The ZA badge loot has substantial upgrades to chest, belt and wrist, but since you have Windhawk, I’d milk their use until you simply can’t afford it anymore. Moroes has a nice cloak that will suit you until you make it to Prince, But if Moroes is stingy, and Prince is a long ways away, the badge cloak is nice. Moroes also has a nice neck until Prince too… but there’s so many good necks out there I’d wipe Manasurge off the slate. Aim for the new SSO one at exalted!
