I love you but I hate you!

I love you WoW, really I do…

I love the prettiness of the game.

I love my druid and her awesomeness.

I love the guild(s) I’m in.

I love all the people I’ve met through WoW.

I love the community I’ve become a part of.

I love the music.

But…

I hate that you’re such a timesink for me. I have so many things I want to do, but my crazy lil love-fest for you means that I don’t do as much real life stuff as I’d like.

I could give you up… but that would mean leaving behind something that’s been a large part of my life over the past three years, and to be honest, I don’t think I could stop while Noobie was still playing it – too much temptation to just hop on and see how everyone’s doing!

In saying that… I don’t think I’ll be getting the next expansion whenever that is. Leveling to 80 is enough for me!

I love you WoW, but sometimes I hate you too!

I just know what you mean. It’s a wonderful game and I sometimes hate how much fun it is because I keep wanting to play when I shouldn’t …

Ah, if only WoW had the chance to become a timesink for me…

11 days and counting since I had time to login…

That’s a good thing!! I just wish it didn’t have such a pull on me.

I’m glad I was forced to quit when I did. I know otherwise right now I’d be powering to 80, raiding, etc etc. Not that I wouldn’t be enjoying every single second of it (oh I would!) but now I’m able to focus on other things that I needed to move ahead in life. I almost envy people who have the ability to set WoW aside and do other things, cos I definitely didn’t.

I think I’m in the same boat to be honest… not something I’m proud of tbh. >_<

I 100% understand where you’re coming from and I’m thankful to no longer feel that way about the game. I spend only a couple nights a week gaming and the rest of the time I relax, watch TV, draw (working on something special!) or hang out and watch movies.

I’ve come to the decision I need to be more casual (well duh! lol) so hopefully I’ll be doing the same as you :)

I’ve promised the wife that when our third arrives (Early Feb) I’m going to throttle back completely, probably down to a couple of nights a week. Not sure how well I’m going to be able to control myself, the game is just far too addictive. I’ll just have to find something more involving than the TV to do in its place. The biggest problem I foresee is finding something to fill the void that WoW will leave behind, guess I’ll have to find another hobby to fill in the hours (has anyone dared to check /played recently?)
