Well, like the title says, tonight I had my first foray into the old world of Mount Hyjal. I would love to say I had a ton of screenies to show you, but I was kinda busy trying to not let my ass get handed to me on a plate!

I was signed up for back up. Lets face it, my gear ain’t exactly up to par with my t6-clad guildies, but it was me or no one, so I ended up getting the last slot. I was so glad I’d been ready and waiting eagerly just in case, I never actually expected to *ever* see anywhere like Mount Hyjal… not until I was level 80 and doing it just to see what it looked like - much in the same way I have seen Naxx.

My dps was… honestly? Not good. I did better than the tanks but that is literally it. At least I had imp MotW, thorns and faerie fire to help out, and a battle rez of course

The group still seemed to do pretty darn well and we got down Anetheron and Kaz’rogal. I was the only druid there so when the Pillar of Ferocity dropped I got it by default… typical! I’m getting a nice little feral set going now that’s for sure. Next I need to work on my resto kit.

For now I have to work on grinding up the mats for a shadow resistance cloak for Archie, so that’s on the list for the weekend I think.

I really do need to sort out my UI a lil more though… there were quite a few things I haven’t configured yet on grid, and although Phae posted a great write up on how to use it as a druid, the damn addon site was down so I have yet to add the extras to help me out! Once that’s configured I should have a little more room to play around with.

Here’s a nice lil shot of a very dead us killing Kaz’rogal to end with for the night… I was so excited to be there, even though apparently it was a rubbish run compared to the ‘norm’, I still had a blast and look forward to going back!

Last night, for the first time EVER, I was in a group that one-shotted Karazhan, in just over 3 hours. WOW! I couldn’t believe it! Well, I could, cause most of the people there were t6 equipped, but still, oh my word I had so much fun! And TS… ehehehehe good times are going to be had there me thinks Now I know, I know… it’s not likely to be as laid back on ‘official’ raids, but still, so! much! fun!

I had been hoping that Prince might be nice enough to drop his purty Ruby Drape, which would replace the blue cape I had and be worthy of a subtlety enchant, but usually I’m never that lucky - not a chance. Well… I was! My jaw dropped, it has a great boost for my spell hit rating, which has been the bane of my life the past week as I’ve been trying to increase it, so I think I literally /squee’d on ts when it dropped. I think Aurik must be my lucky charm

Oh but that’s not all… oh no! Not only was Prince actually nice to me, Netherspite was too and dropped the Uni-Mind Headdress just for me! So all in all a nice boost in spell hit, increasing it to 123. Only 29 points away from being hit capped, and 22 of those are accounted for with the Spellstrike Pants which I have only 4 mights left to get to complete the mats, add in a lil great dawnstone and I’m capped - yay!

Once that’s done it’s a case of grinding away at various heroics and kara/za runs to get badges for the next upgrades… not that I’ve figured out what they’ll be as of yet, but, you know, it’s all relative… right?

I feel like I’ve got a new lease of life on Softthistle, I’ve actually been doing some instances, joined up with an arena team, I’m helping some people on their (insanely lucky) alts and all in all, this is the first time I felt like I’ve been properly ‘part of’ a guild in a long while. It’s a damn nice feeling to have!

Ok, I’d been pondering writing something like this for a while, so I thought it was about time I got on with it!

Having just joined a new guild who are raiding the t6 content, my gear isn’t up to scratch. I was just starting SSC before moving to them, so I have a lot of catching up to do. This means I’ve got a lot of re-gemming and enchanting of items to do - both old and new.

There are so many decisions to make I thought I’d better make a list of the best choices for me, so here I am, showing them to you.

Softthistle lay her weary body on the bed she had been given on the Aldor Rise. It was the closest place she had to a home in these past few seasons.

She ached all over. Her feral learnings had been brief during her younger years and she just didn’t have the stamina to keep up with it these days. It looked like her friend was right- she couldn’t handle being feral after all.

All Softthistle wanted was to cast off the dark and dreary clothing of the cat and get
back into her Windhawk set. Back to her moonkin and all that came with it.

She pulled herself up, walking over to the cupboard where her leathers were stored, touching the feathers longingly. These new garments just didn’t fit the same, she couldn’t move comfortably, and it made her feel awkward - not something a cat was supposed to be.

She checked her wallet, she had the money to pay her tutor for another lesson… it was time to put on her old clothes and head back to Moonglade to talk to him.

“Back so soon little Softi?” asked Loganaar. It wasn’t so much of a question really, they both knew that in her heart of hearts little Softi had always been at peace with the owlkins. They had a heart to heart about it, he reminded her of the ways she knew so well, she paid him his fee, and went on her way - back to that place she called home.

Back in Shattrath she was assigned the task of aquiring some nether residue through her professions. That could only mean it was time to do some skinning, so off she went to Nagrand where the Clefthoof Bulls lived. Not only would she be able to complete her task there, she would probably get some of their sought after hides to boot.

Finally she could shift back into her true form, she was surprised to be a little rusty, but soon got back in the swing of things. Oh she reveled in casting her spells again! The weaving of words and clicks of the owlkin soon came back to her and she was in full swing once more.

Before she knew it the nether residue had been gathered, and some of the precious leather.

Softthistle went on her way, back in her own skin, feeling like herself again.

So… Softthistle has a new home. A new server actually, a whole new start!

I’d been solely playing on baby Softii for the past few weeks and I was missing my main, I love playing Softthistle, she’s my first ever character, has been with me for over 3 years now - how could I not miss playing her eh?

I had pondered the idea for a week or so, not really thinking much of it… until The Man made this post. I reckon it was a secret ploy to be honest… well, it worked

I found it harder to say bye to STU than I had to my previous guild who I’d been in for over 2 years… I blubbed my lil heart out - oh dear! I did *really* enjoy being with them, but it wasn’t fair me staying when I was hardly online, and then this opportunity popped up and, well… the rest, as they say, is history.

It would seem I am the Jess to Aurik’s Fim… or something like that

I’ve already joined a lil arena team with some of my new guildies, having lotsa fun, and I feel like I have some direction with Softthistle again, which is nice

Baby Softii will still be leveled though, I want a 70 ferlol to play with too, without the respeccing costs!

So, there I am… a new guild - a new server… I sure wasn’t expecting to do this when I rolled an alt to say hello to Aurik, but I’m happy with how things have turned out!

… or have I? I have to have been doing SOMETHING when I’ve been logging on right? So here’s a little round up of what I have been doing over the past couple of weeks.

• I’ve managed to level my lil hordie Softi to 49. I’m contemplating doing some pvp with her just for *something* to do. I feel like I’ve hit a slump with her at the moment. I’m getting closer and closer to Outlands, but at the same time it’s still quite a hard slog to get there when you’re soloing most of the time. Then I end up playing another character and the saga continues… *sigh* I’m not making it any easier on myself am I?

• My baby hunter Leafi has been given a lil invite to The Hugger’s guild, where I’m currently getting to know some of the other players and having a great time leveling! 26 and counting… I can hardly let Jhai be ahead of me can I?? Mind you, at least her big brother Dryn the hunter gave me a helping hand in the Stockades the other day… two, or was it three times? So I guess I won’t whinge or whine too much about the druid getting all higher up in levels… just so long as I keep catching up!Now… Leafi has some new pets. Well, they’re not new to her any more, but they are still pretty new. The latest addition was a trip to Redridge to tame Bellygrub. I’ve come up with the oh-so-unoriginal name of Belli for her.However… we are also now the proud companion of a Ghost Saber. Cat (as he is called for the time being) has been with us since level 20, and we still can’t come up with a name for him

  I have a few… guidelines… I want to use while naming him

  • A relatively simple name - only 1-2 syllables tops.
  • Something that will ‘go’ with Leafi when I say their names.
  • A name that will play on the transparent/ghost type pet that he is.
  • SOMETHING ORIGINAL - not another Ghost, or Whisper, or Seethru, but I’m open to those words in another language, even a made up one?

  Not that I’m fussy at all… *whistles*
  So, if you think you can help me with a name It’d be *much* appreciated, and if not a name… maybe some sites where I can think of something? For now I’m off to read up on Mama Druid’s naming posts - no reason it wouldn’t work with a pet just as well as a character eh?

• I’ve managed to get up 5 levels of JC on Maryliin, so she’s now only 5 points away from being maxed out - *woot!*
• Softthistle has gotten to revered with the SSO. Only another week or so of doing half-assed dailies and she’ll be Exalted and the precious will be mine!

Umm, yea… well… I guess I have been pretty busy after all!
